Photography Without Borders empowers young artists through formal photography instruction in school-based settings at no cost. Students meet 2 times a week for workshops, moving from basic camera photo composition to more sophisticated techniques, as well as the occasional field trip to experience art in the city.

Platte Forum ArtLab

Platte Forum ArtLab offers opportunities for teens to work on the creation and presentation of major artistic works while being mentored by professional artists. The extensive curriculum integrates the creative process and art-based learning with academic, personal, and professional skill development and averages 230 hours annually per student. They provide opportunities for learning through the arts in historically marginalized communities. The artist residency program has become a vehicle for participants to envision an artistic career for themselves.

Poetry Heals for Teens

Poetry Heals for Teens provides a safe space for healing through expressive writing. Programs and workshops for youth at risk are offered in schools and jails. Participants learn that expressive writing can heal trauma and become an important tool for thriving despite obstacles. 45 % of the youth have experienced trauma and 89% of system-involved youth experienced trauma and/or abuse.

Quintessence will serve 870 children and youth, ages 11-18, at six chronically underfunded Title I schools in Northwest Philadelphia in 2021. The in-school educational curricula include student matinees, post-show discussion, immersive theater workshops, and classical language usage.

Rock To The Future

Rock To The Future offers music programs at no cost to Philadelphia youth in under-resources areas via four innovative programs in school, after-school, and summer sessions. The MusiCore After School program serves 70 Philadelphia youth grades 3-12 at two sites in high poverty areas.

Salida Circus Outreach

Salida Circus Outreach Peak Performers is a speed track of physical activity, artistic expression, and fun. Known as ‘Circus with a Purpose’; acrobatics, aerial, juggling, clowning, parkour, stilt-walking, and other circus skills are taught in a non-competitive, nurturing, and inclusive environment. It now serves 320 disadvantaged youth per week in Chaffee, Fremont, and Saguache counties

One to One Mentoring operates programs for youth ages 5-18 in San Miguel Co. and the West End of Montrose Co., including the Youth Enrichment Program, which provides mentees with access to a range of arts-related activities and events. Between 130 and 140 youth participate annually from grades Kindergarten through 12.
